NTU GRADUATE FESTIVAL

The Brief

Create a visual identity for NTU’s end of year
Graduate Festival 2025 for Art and Design students.

What is NTU’s Graduate Festival?

NTU’s Graduate Festival, hosted by the Nottingham School of Art & Design, is a celebration of final-year student work across a multitude of creative disciplines. The festival spans gallery and studio exhibitions, runway shows, film screenings, live performances, and interactive installations, both on campus and in cultural venues in Nottingham- and sometimes even London.

 My concept

The design features intertwining elements to represent the connection between endings and new beginnings, capturing the shared journey of the graduating students. Vibrant colours were chosen to express the energy, pride, and joy of reaching such an important milestone, turning the work into a visual celebration of their achievements.

Target Audience

The target audience includes Art and Design students, the general public, and future employers-all of whom engage with creative work that demonstrates originality, showcases creativity, and promotes the value of design. They value clear, compelling communication and a distinctive identity that stands out, whether in an academic context or a professional setting.

Graphic Language

The graphic language in this project builds on existing icons, or ‘shapeshifters,’ that represent the different courses within NTU’s School of Art and Design. I’ve manipulated these icons to align with the visual identity of my concept, incorporating an intertwining line that weaves through each symbol. The playful, sticker-like style also allows for layering and flexibility within the overall design.
